With so many active PTA parents offering their various talents in their own personal ways, I was happy to volunteer on the yearbook committee at my daughter’s preschool and contribute my illustration and design skills. ^_^ (I had no idea preschools had yearbooks!)
The yearbook interior pages are packed full of photos of all the events and activities that take place throughout the year. So when thinking of some ideas for the cover, I wanted to keep it simple. I decided to depict the entrance way (does not actually include the patterns hehe) to the preschool where the children greet and are greeted by the Sensei every morning with a bow and “Ohaiyo gozaimasu” (“Good morning!”). The image serves as a “window” leading to what awaits inside the school as well as the book.
Back cover: The door leads to a nice outdoor courtyard where they do many activities and can run around a beautiful plum tree.
